About Projectnet is a searchable database of research projects which focus on natural resources. The database, launched as Hankehaavi.fi at 2008 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Finland, provides an easy access to summaries of both ongoing and completed projects performed by five prominent research organisations in Finland. The project descriptions are either in Finnish or in English.

Currently, Projectnet covers the data provided by the Finnish Food Authority (previously Evira), the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI), the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), the National Resources Institute Finland (Luke), the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) and from the University of Helsinki (HY) faculties at Viikki Campus (Faculties of Agriculture and Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Biosciences and Pharmacy), Ruralia institute and Viikki Campus Library.

The National Resources Institute Finland (Luke) started in January 2015 and it covers the former operations of the Finnish Forest Research Institute (Metla), MTT Agrifood Research Finland and of the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute (RKTL). The completed projects of the preceding three organisations are listed separately in Projectnet under the acronyms Metla, MTT and RKTL.

Projectnet does not manipulate the content provided by the data producers. Search results are displayed as a list of titles. Each title is a direct link to the original project summary at the data producer's own website. By using Projectnet anyone who is interested in publicly funded research on a certain subject will be directed to project descriptions faster than by visiting each data producer's website and databases individually.

At the present, Projectnet contains approximately 11 850 project descriptions.
