The vision of this proposal is to build up an integrated product policy (IPP) based framework for sustainable food production and consumption. Towards this vision we pursue by surveying the key issues of IPP policy in global food chains, by identifying the key areas of necessary shared-knowledge of IPP among the stakeholders, by assessing the present understanding of IPP by modern food consumers, and by defining the approaches for promoting the IPP knowledge through food chains and, specifically, for improving consumersÂ’ capability for environmentally aware food choices. The case studies will be performed in two modern, geographically isolated, ICT economies: New Zealand and in Finland, food exporter and importer, with IPP in an initiating stage. The results will be shared regimes for Implementation of IPP in food market. The project relates to Theme 3 ? The Food Chain, by strengthening the scientific links between global food production systems, food safety, and environmental outcomes, and including analysis of public perceptions of both traditional and new products, in food market. The project contributes to further agri-environmental and educational policy-making and to public debate on current and emerging global agro-food and agri-environmental issues in Member societies.
