The main objective is to increase the know-how, exchange of knowledge and cooperation between Finns and Russians (Leningrad region and South East Finland) to develop new ideas and projects in rural research and developing. During the project knowledge of Russian rural areas is increased among researchers, developers and entrepreneurs. Ž To promote social development in Leningrad region and increase cooperation between South-East Finland and Leningrad region Ž To promote economical development (food industry): Ž To promote rural tourism in Luga district. Ž To develop and increase cooperation between Finnish and Russian rural developers and researchers The task of the research package is to list material and human resources in the villages, describe administrative structure and to find information about previous and present development efforts and plans in the villages and in the regional level.
