Food Design- Integrated aesthetic design of food packages for different value segments The project analyses consumer preferences for different package design styles and composition e.g. their aspects of information value, category framing and salience. The research proposes that the design of food products is a process in which the aesthetic design and product's functional requirements are integrated and communicated in containers or packaging and labeling solutions. The meaning of any brand's kinship are articulated via packaging design. However, for instance, the interpretation of communications concerning package illustration and aesthetic design is not well understood from consumer's point of view. This subproject also tries to understand and highlight how different consumer value segments perceive e.g. colours, shapes, packaging materials, font types and pictures used in containers and package images. The research will be conducted using experimental designs and analysed by conjoint methods.
